Valino VR08GP Tyres Specifications

Having established itself in the world of drifting in just a few years, the Japanese brand Valino is now tackling the high-performance grip tyre market with the VR08GP. By optimising the VR00β formula, the manufacturer wanted to produce a tyre with high grip, easy control and long life, all at a very competitive price.

Not road legal in Europe, this tyre is suitable for track days, time attack and other circuit events. Equipped with these tyres, the Mazda RX-7 RGN Sunoco DG5 CTA was able to achieve a time of 56″969 at the Tsukuba circuit in 2021.

This semi-slick tyre with asymmetrical tread and rounded sidewalls combines an almost smooth section with little texture to maximise grip on dry ground and a grooved section to quickly evacuate water in the rain. Easy to handle even for beginners, it proves to be reactive, safe at the limit thanks to a very good communication, and offers a high vertical and horizontal grip.

The VR08GP warms up quickly and is remarkably consistent over time, allowing for very close lap times. Its treadwear of 200 means that it has a pretty long life and can even be considered for low budget endurance racing.
